Synopsis

Two million passengers travelled from Antwerp, the Red Star Line's main European port, to North America on board Red Star Line ships between 1873 and 1934. The United States and Canada were the promised land for fortune seekers and everyone looking for a better life. This film tells four small second and thirth generation stories about memory and present feelings on migration.

Short biography

The Belgian-Chilean Andrés Lübbert has a Master in Audiovisual Arts from the Royal Arts School in Brussels. His documentaries have participated in more than 180 International Film Festivals in 20 countries, and won 29 prizes. Andrés tells stories about his intercultural environment about migration, identity, Human Rights and social issues. He has made several documentaries about the Chilean post-memory.
