Description of the event
The Exhibition “Taste of Modern Art, Vibrations of Amber Threads.” by the Latvian artist Ms Iveta Vecenāne will be held at the “Metropolis” Gallery, Baku Modern Art Museum from 3rd to 17th of May. The exhibition opening at the Museum is on 2nd May, 2019 at 18:00 in parallel with screening of Latvian film “Mērija’s journey” in presence of artist Ms Iveta Vecenāne, film director Ms Kristīne Želve and producer Ms Elvita Ruka which will take place at the “Metropolis” Gallery.
Latvian well-known textile artist Iveta Vecenane was born in Riga in 1962. She has studied the Art of Textile at Latvian Academy of Art in 1982-1988. Iveta Vecenane is famous for hosting and organizing the textile exhibitions on an international scale. In 2013 she hosted the exhibition called “What Does Amber Still Have in Mind?” in Washington at the EU Open House. In the period of 2016-2018 the artist hosted several exhibitions in Europe and Asia. Ms Vecenāne has won the 3 rd prize in The Second Silk Road Women’s Innovation Design Competition.
