THE RULES OF THE COMPETITION
THEME OF THE COMPETITION: A social media competition is being organised by the EU4Energy communications project. The theme of the competition is Energy Markets. It is a call to test knowledge of energy developments in the partner countries of the Eastern Neighbourhood, as well as to find new and interesting facts about energy sources and consumption.
ELIGIBILITY: The competition is open to citizens from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine possessing a personal Facebook, Instagram or VKontakte account who are at least eighteen (18) years old. Employees, interns, or partners of the team members of EU4Energy communications project, as well as the immediate family and household members of those employees, are not eligible to enter.
ORGANISER: The competition is organised by the EU4Energy communications project (“the organiser”). The competition is in no way associated with or sponsored/endorsed/administered by Facebook.
TIMELINE AND PARTICIPATION: The competition will run from 11th of January until the 19th of January 2019 and will consist of four questions. Users may participate in the contest by posting answers in the comments section underneath the question on the EU Neighbours East timeline of the project’s Facebook, Instagram and Vkontakte accounts. Answers must be posted from individual, personal accounts. Up to one answer is permitted per person per competition question. The correct answer for each question will be provided within 48 hours after the publication of each question. Once the answer is published, no further answers under that question will be accepted.
WINNERS SELECTION: Entrants who provide a correct answer to one of the four questions will be entered into a lottery to select the winners. Each question answered correctly by an entrant results in one entry into the lottery (answering four questions correctly means four lottery entries). Randomising csoftware (random.org) will be used to run the selection of the prize winners. After a random list is produced, the first person on the list will receive the main prize. A further nine prizes will be awarded. Winners will be selected after all four correct answers have been published on the social media accounts running the competition.
PRIZE: Up to 10 prizes will be awarded to winners. A main prize of an electric scooter will be awarded to the main winner. The prize may not be transferred and must be accepted as awarded. The winner may not request cash or a substitute prize. Do not contact the organiser about the status of competition. The organiser will notify the winners via the contact information provided by the participant after the announcement of the results of the competition. If a winner fails to communicate with the organiser within four working days of the announcement, a runner up will be selected.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: The organiser reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the operation of the competition, violates the rules, or acts in a disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner. In the event of a dispute as to the owner of an online entry, the authorised account holder used to enter will be deemed to be the owner.
RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By entering, the participant agrees to release and will not hold the organiser, Facebook, their respective parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) responsible for and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the competition or receipt or use of any prize. This includes, but is not limited to:
(a) unauthorised human intervention in the competition;
(b) technical errors;
(c) printing errors;
(d) late or undelivered mail;

PRIVACY AND PUBLICITY: Any information the participant submits, when entering the competition is provided to the EU4Energy communications project, not to Facebook. The participant consents to the organiser‘s use of the participant's name and profile name in any list of winners (if applicable). This information will only be used for contacting the winners. The winners’ name and profile name may be used for promotional purposes without further payment or consideration.

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, the participant's rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the organiser in connection with the competition, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Belgium, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of Belgium or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Belgium.
